A young short-haired brunette hummed happily as she made her way to the entrance to Central Park. She came all the way to New York from Arizona to begin her life. No longer able to contain her excitement, she began to sing.
"Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today! I want to be a part of it, New York, New York!"
A few people stopped to stare at the newcomer. Pony approached them with a big grin, causing them to shrink back in slight fear, "These vagabond shoes are longing to stray, and make a brand new start of it! New York, New York! I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps! To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap! New York, New York!"
As the small group of people attempted to escape, Pony hooked arms with one of them, "These little town blues are melting away! I'll make a brand new start of it! In old New York, if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere! It's up to you, New York, New York!" She dragged the man along in a circle after the next line, "I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps!"
She danced to a park bench where an old lady was feeding pigeons. She popped up from behind the bench, almost giving the poor old lady a heart attack, "To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap!"
Pony raced over the bridge of the turtle pond, near the beehive, "New York, New York! These little town blues are melting away! I'll make a brand new start of it! In old New York, if I can make it there, I can make it anywhere! It's up to you, New York, New Yoooorrrrk!"
The excited girl let out a sigh and she sat herself under the shade of the tree containing the beehive.

Adam flew out of the hive, curious as to where the music was coming from. "Hello?" he asked. "Is anyone here?"

Pony perked at the sound of a voice, but she saw no one, "Hello? Who's there?" She rose to her feet and looked around.

Adam looked around to see where the voice was coming from. He then saw the human female. "Excuse me," he said.

Pony's eyes eventually fell upon the hovoring bee. Her eyes lit up and she smiled in a friendly manner, "Aw, aren't you just adorable!"

Adam faintly blushed. "Adorable?" he repeated. The bee smiled a little. "Well, I don't know about that, but thanks."

Pony smiled, "Sure you are! ... Wait a minute... Was it you who was addressing me?"

Adam nodded. "Yes, I was adressing you." He then realized something. "You... haven't heard of a talking bee before, have you?"

"Yeah, on the news. I was pretty surprised, but I think it's really cool that bees have the ability to articulate like humans. Sooo... you heard my singing?" She seemed a little embarassed.

"Yes," Adam replied. "I was wondering where the singing was come from somewhere. I thought it was just my imagination at first, but it grew louder once you neared the hive. You have a pretty amazing singing voice," he added.

Pony couldn't help but smile from ear to ear, "Thank you! That's very sweet of you to say." She stuck an index finger out for the little bee to take, "I'm Pony."

"Nice to meet you," Adam said, extending his hand to accept the shake. "I'm Adam Flayman."

"That's a very nice name," Pony smiled sweetly, "I was about to sit down for lunch. Would you like to join me, Adam?" she let a sports bag drop to the ground before settling down in the grass.

Adam smiled. "Really?" He cleared his throat. "I mean, are you not meeting someone here?"

Pony's excitement grew at the thought of making her first friend since she arrived, "No, I just arrived this morning and you're the first ah-individual I officially met so far." She morphed her face in a playful begging-but-happy manner in attempt to look cute; a display she often used around her friends and family only out of play, "Will you join me? Pleeeeaase?"

Adam chuckled. "Well, how can I say no to a face like that?" The bee nodded. "Consider me your first official friend here in New York."

"Alright!" Pony laughed. She unzipped her sports bag and pulled out a lunchbox. After unwrapping a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, she ripped it in half and tore a tiny piece from the middle and handed it to the little bee, "Here you go, Adam."

"Thank you." Adam started to take a bite out of the sandwhich. A few seconds after that, the poor bee was trying to get peaanut butter unstuck from the roof of his mouth.

"You okay, little guy?" Pony asked with a raised brow. After noticing the typical signs of struggling to remove peanut butter from the roof of one's mouth, she twisted the cap off of a bottle of citrus-flavored green tea. She poured a tiny amount into the cap and offered it to Adam, "This should wash down that evil peanut butter."

Adam quickly took the cup and began to swallow the drink. After a while, the peanut butter was washed out. "Thanks, Pony," the bee said greatfully.
