Adam flew back into the hive with a dissapointed look on his face. He tried to focus on other things... but he just couldn't keep his mind off of Pony. She was a nice girl, the bee thought. Why did I have to leave her? Adam leaned against a crate and thought about the situation...

Barry had finished his latest pollen jocking shift minutes ago. Usually, he and Adam would have lunch together, but never found him. He strode over to his best friend to ask what was up with him, "Hey, Adam! Where were you at lunch? I was worried."

Adam looked to see his best friend. "Oh, hey Barry." He sighed. "It wasn't anything important." The bee started to walk away.

"Nothing important, huh?" Barry started while following Adam, "Come on, Adam. I know you. You wouldn't miss lunch unless..." a mischievous expression contorted onto Barry's face, "Unless... you met a lady."

Adam sighed. He knew that Barry was going to guess it at sometime or other... "What makes you say that?" he asked. The bee probably knew the answer, but still.

Barry rolled his eyes, "Because I know you and I know how you would never pass up a chance to spend time with a girl... So, what's her name and what's she like?"

Adam blushed. "Why should I tell you?" he answered. "What if I wanted to keep it to myself?"

Barry was a little taken aback, "Hey, I told you about Vanessa. Why can't you tell me about this girl you met? What is it about her you want to keep from me?"

"I. Don't. Know," Adam answered. "I just..." He sighed. "Do.. do you think we can talk about it somewhere other than here?"

"Sure." Barry led Adam to a secluded alleyway. After seeing that they were alone, he turned back to his friend, "Okay, Adam. Let's start talking."

Adam took a deep breath. "Well, her friends call her Pony," he began. "She's an animal sketch artist, has a pet turtle, and they're trying to find a permanent place to stay. Right now, she's just renting a motel room."

Barry nodded as he processed the information, "Uh-huh. Well, what's she like? Personality-wise?"

"Well," the bee continued, "she likes to read. She loves animals, and she's really nice to be around. She's an excellent chef and--" Only now did adam realize what he was saying. Darn it!

Barry crossed his arms and smirked knowingly, "Well... it sounds like you've got a thing for this human."

"So... so..." Adam sighed. "So what if I do like her?"

"If you like her, that's great," said Barry, "I think you should try to get to know her better. Maybe you could take the day off tomarrow, show up at her doorstep with a flower, and spend the whole day with her." Barry suggested.

"Barry, it's becuase I'm trying to juggle work and trying to spend some time with Pony that I'm like this," Adam explained. "If I don't go to work, there'll be one less person on the Krelmen and I'll get replaced. But if I don't spend more time with Pony..." The bee groaned in frustration. "I don't know what to do!"

"I'm just saying spend a whole day with her just one day. I'm sure you two can work something out," Barry knew this meant a great deal to Adam. He wanted to help him out, "I'll talk to the big guy and you just enjoy your day with your girlfriend tomarrow."

Adam looked at his best friend. "You'd really do that for me, Barry?" Mentally, the bee made a note to repay Barry someday for what he was doing for him.

"Of course. Anything to help you out, Adam," Barry replied happily. "So, anything else you'd like to tell me about Pony?"
